I updated with your changes and scheduled for distribution at 8:30

Gaudi said it best: “A man does not create, he discovers.” This has been a season of great discovery for me, our team, our industry partners and, most of all, for our clients. From our team field trip to Vegas Design Center and World Market to the rugged and mystical inspirations from my Ireland trip, the summer has brought wonderful musings and great inspiration. This has been a summer of beautiful projects: from a sexy twist on a traditional Mediterranean home in PV to a sleek modern interpretation of Southwest style in Sedona. As the year begins to come to a close we look forward to great new adventures. Please continue the journey with us as the discoveries continue.

Invitation to Vegas

This month IMI was honored to be one of a select group who were Wold Market Center with Staffinvited by  Ms. Marsha Thompson, Director of Leasing, to visit and tour the Las Vegas Design Center. Marsha and her team had a truly wonderful couple of days planned for the event: from rooms at the Aria, to cocktails at the Mandarin, to special access tours of the design center. As the design industry continues to recover, design centers and showrooms across the country are building up again and it was great to see the steps the LVDC has taken so far.

The time in Las Vegas also provided the IMI Team with great opportunities to network and discuss the upcoming launch of the new furniture line. Anita and Luke spent time with Marsha Thompson as well as Diana Tennyson Nielson of the Tennyson Nielson Group updating them on the launch and roll out plans as well as information on showing at the Vegas Market. As the new furniture launch date draws closer the excitement and anticipation keeps growing!

Overall the trip was a treat and a privilege, while still informative and exhausting. Thank you again to Marsha and Diana for their time and expertise and the hospitality of the LVDC!

Inspiration Through Design

Inspire Foundation Logo

It is so exciting that Phase 1 of this year’s Inspire Foundation project benefiting the Foundation for Blind Children has been completed. Everyone is so thankful for the participation of the wonderful vendors and donors who were involved in this project. IMI and Inspire are currently working with the Foundation for Blind Children to coordinate an open house and give everyone who participated and anyone who’d like to see the new space an opportunity to experience it first hand.

Although Phase 1 is now behind us, the work is not finished! Inspire is already diligently working in preparation of Phase 2 of this project which will be unveiled at the upcoming Open House. The Inspire staff and development team have several unique ideas for fundraising that will bring this wonderful piece of the project to fruition. Anyone who would like to get involved now is welcome. See the Inspire Foundation webpage at

Furniture Line Update

The excitement is mounting for our upcoming launch of the new and exclusive furniture line that Anita is developing!  The marketing team has been hard at work creating branding and launch materials that reflect the design and the craftsmanship of the furniture pieces.  The big news for this month is that we have selected a name!  Check back soon for the official announcement and launch activities!

Anita and IMI are Published

The bi-annual publication for design enthusiasts in China, American Style Villa, was recently published by Design Vision International. IMI Design, along with local architectural firm Candelaria Design, got some international attention each showcasing two projects. The publication features other designers such as Barry Dixon. In Anita’s forward to the book she states that “Directly influencing any given physical space through a thoughtful composition and manipulation of materials creates more than just a beautiful setting–it establishes an entire atmosphere.” And this book does a magnificent job of inviting the reader in to experience the atmosphere of some of America’s incredible interiors.

New York!

New York!

Where discoveries happen.

The New York Design Center hosted its annual What’s New What’s Next. The latest trends in design were showcased last week. From materials to colors a whole range of new ideas are highlighted by top of the line industry partners.

Christopher Guy opened his new flagship showroom in the penthouse suite of 200 Lexington. Christopher continues to dazzle the design world with his distinct and beautiful designs. A big congratulations on the new showroom! I have watched Mr. Harrison develop this line and expand his business during the last two decades. Even in tough times!

A local standout is the ARA competition for architectural students. The awards ceremony took place on Monday, September 23.

at the Gallery of Design in ASU’s South School of Design Building. IMI was proud to sponsor one of the winners. Everyone did a fantastic job and our industry’s future is bright, based on these stars showing creativity and innovation!
