Did you know that our Inspire Foundation is participating in Arizona Gives Day for the very first time this year?
Join us on April 9, 2014, Arizona’s Gives Day and help us continue to raise awareness for the powerful impact that design has on the human spirit and help us complete Phase 2 at the Foundation for Blind Children.
Your donation of any size on Arizona Gives Day will help us finish the very important work that we started at the East Valley Campus of the Foundation for Blind Children, completing the work in the common areas and cafeteria.
We are counting on you! Please mark your calendar and please help us by spreading the word and pledging to make a donation at www.azgives.org
With your support, we hope to raise more than $60,000 on Arizona Gives Day!
The second phase of the project will include adding a much needed new classroom to the site along with an accessible restroom. The plans also include remodeling the entire multipurpose room and the addition of a parents’ lounge. We would also like to revamp the kitchen and restrooms throughout the site.
A complete list of requested–and greatly needed–sponsor ships can be found on the Inspire Foundation page. Any and all donations are appreciated and can be made directly on the site.
Spring is the season of new beginnings, creative energy and optimism and that’s exactly what is going on here at IMI. We are so excited to have started several new projects for wonderful clients, great teams, beautiful homes and, on top of all that, excitement grows as the Milan show approaches! We are so thankful for all of it.
WHAT’S IN A NAME?
We wanted you to be among the first to know that we have officially selected the name for our new furniture company! We selected “Design 528.” What’s behind the name and why 528?
It has taken over a year and a half of research to find the perfect reflection of this unique furniture company. “It was harder than naming my baby girls,” Anita offers. “What I love about my craft as a designer is the power interior design has to evoke emotion in the inhabitants of a space. When a space is created with thoughtful intention based on the design integrity, our creative talents and, even more importantly, with love for those we serve, the design resonates with the human spirit.”
A space can make those within it feel energized or calm or joyful or reflective. Design 528 does this with furniture. To reflect the truth and love that resonates from our collections we turned to music. 528 Hz is considered the frequency of love. Songs such as John Lennon’s Imagine and Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World are written around these frequencies in the note of “C”. It is embodied in iconic music that reaches people of all generations and ethnicities. And so it is with this intention, the intention of elevating the human spirit, that we have named our line Design 528.
Along with our product offerings, Design 528 incorporates a heart-focused business model into the company’s strategic plan. As a result, Design 528 aims to create a lasting, positive impact on not just its clientele, but also on the company’s employees, partners and on the global community at large.
As we prepare for the official launch this May, we’re delighted to host an exclusive, private launch of Design 528 in Milan this April during the largest international furniture show: Salone Internazionale del Mobile. We will unveil the first collection “The Planes,” which features fifty pieces of top quality crafted furniture with options for beds, credenzas, nightstands, seating and tables available in exotic wood veneers and lavish metal finishes. The entire collection is handmade from sustainable materials by seasoned artisans in the United States.
We’re in Milan under very special circumstances. Design 528 was invited to participate among the sponsors of the Materials Village, a brand new concept from Material ConneXion Italia – a renowned center of research on materials and innovative and sustainable production processes.
The Materials Village format is an innovative layout featuring houses of various dimensions and configurations, with exhibition spaces and social events, created in the gardens of the prestigious La Triennale Museum. If you plan on attending, stop by!
After the industry launch in Milan, Design 528 will celebrate an official launch on May 28, 2014. The furniture collections will be available exclusively through design showrooms in North America and Europe. Questions? We’re happy to answer! Email us or call.
We are excited to announce we have been retained to work on a beautiful new project in North Scottsdale. The style of the home is ultra-modern and it is going to be a fun new addition to our schedule. The architect, Nick Tsontakis, has created an exciting structure around which to develop this design.
Mr. Tsontakis describes the design philosophy behind this spectacular project: “The overall circular plan of the home minimizes travel distance within the home while maximizing exterior views of the rear lot. It also allows for a private motor court and gated entry way ensuring privacy from the street.”
The architect goes on to discuss some of the wonderful features of the lot itself: “The exterior landscaping covers two combined lots and provides for many different outdoor activities. These activities include things such as a greenhouse, kid’s play structure, small pool and spa combination, large lap pool and grotto, pool house, kid’s tree house, sports court with adjacent covered ramada, a running path, koi pond, and even shaded seating areas off the master bedroom at the far end of lot.”
The team is anxiously diving in to this beautiful new project and working at making a space that will elevate the spirits of the family living there for years to come.

Would you like to meet Miss America? If you don’t have anything planned for Saturday, April 19th, we hope that you will consider joining us at a special event in Phoenix where the signature piece of our new furniture line will be featured at the live auction as the 2014 Miss America and Miss New York Nina Davuluri will turn heads towards a global pandemic at the Hope in the Face of AIDS dinner and gala. The event , an annual fundraiser for the International Alliance for the Prevention of AIDS, will take place at 5:30 p.m. on April 19 at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel.
Davuluri is the first Miss America of Indian descent and she is working to bring focus to the problem facing the country where her family originated. A University of Michigan graduate, she has a passion for medicine, helping educate the community on diversity and those in need.
A Vision Box – a signature piece of the inaugural collection from Design 528 – has been selected as a live auction item at the event. The Vision Box was designed to incorporate a vision board into a functional and beautiful piece of furniture.
We are delighted to donate this piece of furniture to highlight the importance of having a strong vision in business, organizations and individual lifestyles.
The Hope in the Face of AIDS Gala features dinner, an auction and an Indian Bazaar with all proceeds going to IAPA’s educational initiatives in Indian schools and communities. With the U.S. dollar going six times further in India, the money raised will significantly impact IAPA’s efforts in testing and counseling services; public-private partnerships between Indian and U.S. universities; and the creation of a sustainable, multinational and multicultural effort to fight the pandemic.
Tickets and sponsorships are available online at www.hopeinthefaceofaids.org or by calling 480-274-3561 . Tickets are $150 each, and tables of 10 range from $1,500 to $50,000. Tickets are still available and are tax deductible.
The International Alliance for the Prevention of AIDS (IAPA) was founded in 2004 by Arizona college students inspired by community focused health initiatives to combat the spread of HIV in India, basing the organization in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The IAPA provides community based HIV education services, support to individuals who are HIV positive, advocacy services and health development programs. For more information on IAPA, please visit www.iapaindia.org.
We have a strong tradition of supporting health and education initiatives, including Body Positive and The Southwest AIDS and HIV Research Center. We hope that you will join us in supporting this very important and global cause!
