The heat can’t keep us down, as we come to the close of another busy month here at the studio! We have kept our hands full working on the Organics Collection from the Anita Lang Signature furniture line, renovating our website and finishing up our special testimonial videos for the upcoming release of our exclusive Luxury Series that we mentioned in our first newsletter.
In addition, Anita and Luke have been working closely with Kelly from Luxe Magazine and the rest of the planning committee for the Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS‘ annual Tour of Homes event. Those involved get the chance to tour some of the Valley’s most beautiful homes while supporting a great cause.
On August 11th, Anita and Hilda attended the ASID Arizona North Chapter Design Excellence Awards ceremony at the Arizona Biltmore where they proudly accepted four awards on behalf of IMI Design! Our team was awarded 1st place in Kitchen Design, 1st and 2nd place in Fixture Design and 2nd place in Furniture Design on behalf of IMI Design.
About the Award-Winning Kitchen
Kitchens are a careful combination of function and aesthetics. This year’s ASID 1st Place Kitchen award winner started as a mountain home remodel. For the chef’s needs there are 2 induction cook tops, and 2 gas cook tops along with a 36″ fridge and a 36″ freezer.
For entertaining, there is a full bar with a beverage counter and an ice maker that are neatly hidden away, but easily accessible. A dumbwaiter brings grocery bags from the lower garage to the pantry unit making life that much more luxurious.
Aesthetics were updated creating a strong architectural line. Note the raw steel blade intersecting the hood details and the integrated handle reveals that unify the architectural use of the bar. A slotted metal screen creates an entrance to the powder room separate from the rest of the kitchen.
This space was designed keeping in mind that kitchens are the hub of a home, and good design maximizes the positive lifestyle and potential luxury of the space.
Furniture As an Art Form
Furniture is a functional inundation of the senses; it is around us at all times. We see it, we feel it and most of the time we don’t even give it a second thought. But from Anita’s perspective, when we glance at our coffee table, sink into our sofa or climb into bed, we should receive not only functionality, but also beauty and a feeling of positivity.
Good art elevates the emotional state and good design is nothing more than functional art. The use of clean lines, authentic materials and true composition all create a visual and textural experience that will elevate the moments of life spent in a particular space. With a philosophy that furniture should be luxurious, bring comfort and foster lifestyle of wellbeing and happiness, the Anita Lang Signature furniture line’s six collections of functional art are created.
Our team is excited to have the opportunity to grow our business, expand our offerings and enrich the lives of our clients.
Anita’s feature in Prime Magazine about a unique media room (pictured below) she designed for a project up in Lake Tahoe will appear in the upcoming issue, out September 1st.
We will be profiling one of the six collections from the Anita Lang Signature furniture line in the next newsletter, so stay tuned!
