Inspire And FBC Logo

The beneficiary for the 2013/2014 Inspire Foundation design project is the Foundation for Blind Children. FBC’s east valley campus was constructed 20 years ago and hasn’t been touched since. In that time the facility has served hundreds of children, adults, families and friends with services too numerous to mention. Not only have the methods for teaching visually disabled children changed over two decades, the space requirements for this growing organization have increased. That is what Inspire Foundation’s design project for 2013 and 2014 addressed.

MULTI-PURPOSE ROOM - RENDERING

Due to the size of the project and the fact that the children are in school for a majority of the year, Inspire Foundation and IMI Design decided to break the project into two phases. Each phase was implemented over the school’s summer break when the children were out for vacation. Phase 1 was finished just in time for the children and staff to start the new school year and it would never have been possible without the amazing support of everyone involved. It was a magnificent example of how the design community came together to create something amazing. Phase 1 included renovations to existing classrooms, a complete remodel of the entrance and lobby areas as well as the main corridor. In addition to aesthetic changes, a new , state of the art, security system was installed, A/C repairs were carried out, custom art work was created for the interior and the exterior.

Inspire Foundation was pleased to hear that the Foundation for Blind Children received a significant capital improvement grant in 2014. Because that grant allowed them to move forward more rapidly and in broader scope the implementation of Phase 2 was adjusted accordingly and the project is considered complete. We are so grateful for everyone who worked tirelessly to bring this together and we look forward to working with you all again on future projects.

This project would never have been possible without the selfless, generous support of our sponsors.
Thank you from the bottom of our heart.
